3NG visits a Gurdwara

We had such a fantastic day learning all about Sikhism. The children were in awe of the beautiful building and learnt lots of information about Guru Nanak and Sikh beliefs. The children were respectful and inquisitive; full of questions to ask our guide.

After our tour, we visited the Langar, a community kitchen that welcomes everybody from all faiths with a meal, where the children tried things such as chapattis and dal.

What a super day we had!

Refugee Week!

This week is Refugee Week! St. Chad’s Sanctuary came to talk to us today about the stories of the refugees and asylum seekers that arrive in our city. It’s important to consider how lucky we are and what we can do to help those that are less fortunate.

A huge thank you to all the parents that have donated clothes this week. These are on the way to help those in need at St. Chad’s Sanctuary.

Our new topic is Predators. The children got stuck right in (literally) by collaging different predators, thinking carefully about colours, patterns and textures. They worked extremely hard and they look amazing!

Surrounded by Noise

Year 3 have been enjoying some performance poetry this half term! We really enjoyed the poem ‘Surrounded by Noise’ by Ian Souter, but we thought we could do better so created our own!
